GC Movie Review: Iron Man
Posted by: | CommentsI loved this movie!! From the screenplay to the cinematography and CGI it was blast. It totally got the little boy in me all revved up and ready to blast off. Robert Downey Jr was the perfect candidate for the movie and he made me want to be like him. Lost in his world of engineering and creating things. The greatest thing about the movie was that it shed light on a subject that is at hand right now. War and the ideals, and people behind it. I always wondered what the children of todays power hungry power houses would do once they realized what was really going on. The message of using weapons for a shield instead of a battering ram was long lost. However via the grace of story telling and this movie Iron Man maybe we can begin to re evaluate our approach to life. I watched at a perfect time in which I myself have been learning that security and setting boundaries are just as necessary as peace. The idea is not to be push overs or bullies but to find that strong middle ground where true being reigns.
Some of my favorite technical points in the movie were the innovative and imaginative use of new tech that has been unseen to us. All of the tech he used seemed possible one day if not today.
On another more spiritual note that body suit to me represented the hueman body and its capabilities. With our hearts powering our entire system and our hands and feet as these energy beacons. We can heal, love, defend and destroy with them. What will you choose…
GC Movie Review: No Country for Old Men
Posted by: | CommentsBravo! Bravo! I just got done watching this movie. I loved it. When I watch movies I am playing a game. I am reflecting the message into real time. What this message of the movie was saying to me was exactly what the title reads. No country for old men. To means it means that the time has come in our world where the old man ways are over and the new is in effect. This movie was well put together across the board. The Coen Brothers really did a nice job on this movie. The cinematography was subtle and amazing, and as far as the screenplay goes it is one of a kind and impeccably written. I have not seen unique plot like this since, heck I dont even know! lol…
At the end of the day the message is to all of us men in this world, we need to grow up and get out of our old ways. We live in a bastard world where man has been holding deep down inside of his heart a sadness. This sadness comes from the lost relationship with our fathers heavenly and earthly. Or at least so we saw it as. The truth is hard to swallow and life is not as easy as it was expected to be to us like when we were young boys. Many men many men have been molded by that darkness and someway or another used it to become of the main types of man that has walked this earth for so long. Living in despair not knowing what and who to be. Becoming the best we knew. Learning the ways of life trough death, daydreaming and, deconstruction. Weather we are the maniacal killer, the greedy and insecure war vet, or the tired and withered old soul still trying to prove himself to his father (G.W Bush). They all were products of a victimized bastardized mind state that we are now becoming aware of and thus reflecting this awareness into our films. It is time for the New Man. This is no world for the old ones.
GC Movie Review: Kama Sutra
Posted by: | CommentsKama Sutra “A Tale of Love” Another one of my favorite movies. The screenplay, the cinematography, the beautiful costumes and set design. This Bollywood film is the opposite the traditional Hollywood fill. This is some decadent sex movie. It is a beautiful piece of art that really makes a good point about love and lack there of. The message can resonate well with woman who are prepared to receive this film completely. The story is about two girls who grew up together one being destined to become a royal queen while the other was only but a servant. Its very relative. You have your woman who are Queens and facilitate and manage things so to speak and then you have your woman who are here to serve and be one of the many. The story shows the struggle between these two dynamics and the internal battles that both woman go trough. For the woman of the world this movie will certainly hit deep in the heart. Kama Sutra addresses some of the most deeply rooted fears and pleasures of the mysterious feminine species. In the end the conclusions that are bestowed upon both woman are tremendous and very powerful. We all have to grow up at some point and accept the darkness of life. With in this death of an ego is life and birth of the spiritual being in the flesh yet not dictated solely by it. True Life!
If you have not seen it please give it a watch and comment on your perspective.
GC Movie Review: Into The Wild.
Posted by: | CommentsSean Penn has done an amazing job on his first film. Cinematography, Casting, Screenplay, and the editing were all top notch. What an amazing style of creativity. Other than all of these aesthetic technical aspects of the film, the story itself was amazing. It is not easy to recreate a book and although I have not read the book I feel that this was done well. The story for me gave me a chance to reflect with that inner introvert and to go on a journey I would not have the courage to go on. I love my solitude but damn!! he was on a mission. In the end his realizations are what make the movie most profound. I will not spoil it for those who have not seen it yet but a definite must see.
